The Tour of Remodeled Homes is a great way to get ideas and talk first hand to the designers and construction professionals behind the work. There will be 15 homes on the tour, open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m both Saturday and Sunday. The event is put on by the Home Builder's Association of Greater Des Moines and the Remodeling Council.
We'll have two projects showcased:
1. 3727 SW 28th St., Des Moines
If you want inspiration for your outdoor living space, tour this backyard oasis! We transformed a poolside deck into an
outdoor centerpiece. We replaced and repaired the deck, fencing and pergola, updating the materials to a modern look
using cedar. Deck highlights include a porcelain tile deck flooring with artificial turf surrounding the pool. Yes, turf! It’s a new trend. Can’t imagine it? Come see it! We’d love to share the design and construction process with you.
2. 3135 SW 23rd St., Des Moines
From the structural bones to the finishing aesthetics, this home has undergone a total transformation. The renovation included moving walls and the relocation of a stairway to create an open, cohesive space, all without disturbing the footprint. We took a unique approach with a closet, converting it into a micro-master bath. A multi-slide door was added on the back, that encourages the blend of outdoor and indoor living. And you’ll want to see the ceiling! We installed a unique, shiplap ceiling throughout.
