The Project: 3135 SW 23rd St., Des Moines Mid-Century Modern Transformation
In the 'Before' photo you'll see the center wall that housed the staircase. We removed that to open up
the room and improve function. The staircase was moved to the front of the house near the windows.
Here you'll see the how we replaced the windows at the back of the house with a three panel sliding
door. The new door, new deck and pergola now encourages the blend of outdoor and living space.
We exposed the original interior / exterior brick wall in the hall bathroom, which provided contrast
against the shower tile, as shown in the mirror above the sink. The vanity is actually a mid mod TV stand!
We turned a large hall closet into this Master Micro-Bath. You'll see several, unique space saving
features, including a double medicine cabinet, in-wall European toilet and a unique tile shower.
